The nearest station on the East Somerset Railway is Mendip Vale, a mile and a half away. A bus service to the town is provided by First West of England. It is served by Berrys Coaches‘ daily Superfast service to and from London.There are three primary schools in the town. Shepton Mallet Infants School, St Paul‘s Junior School and Bowlish Primary School. Education for 1116-year-olds is provided by Whitstone School, a Technology College. For post-16 education, students travel to colleges such as Frome Community College, Strode College in Street, and Norton Radstock College in MidsomerNorton.
